by According to eyewitnesses Prof Aslam Islahi was taking his class when the student turned up, entered the classroom in the middle of the lecture The professor asked her to leave as he does with other students who come late to class or resort to indiscipl ine However the woman started arguing with the teacher, later called police dialing 112 alleging that she was being harassed She told police that the teacher h as al ways been biased against her as she belongs to a different sectThis led to a heated conversation between the student, the teacherHearing the cacophony students, teachers of other departments also gathered at the spotPolice did not intervene because the student refused to give any written complaint against the teacher Later the woman also left the place, refused to speak to the media persons present on the spotHowever teachers of the Arabic department collectively lodged a complaint at the proctor office against the student claiming that she ha d been giving a tough time to the faculty members through her attitudeWe expect that the uni versity administration will take some action against her for indiscipline said IslahiAnother tea cher said the student addresses teachers, disrespectfully, officials, keeps pointing out flaws in everything in the department including w ashrooms syllabus, lecturesShe even takes teachers to task if they are late for a class by a few minutes he addedStudents however were divided over the issueSome of them said not all the issues raised by the woman are wrongIf students can be denied entry for coming late to the lecture why cant a teacher be held accountable for coming late to the class said a student Also another student added the condition of washrooms was indeed badProctor Rakesh Dwivedi said Its a sensitive matter, the said student seems to need counselling Hence we have requested the p sychology department to extend help to her
